A couple of jam comics from the Small Press Day event at Tyne Bank Brewery, prompted by Paul's two comic robots (one drawing the layouts, one randomising word-pairs!)

Collaborations with Paul's robot

Paul made a robot out of Lego that draws random page layouts. It's mint. It's been demo'd at a few events, encouraging punters to try their hand at drawing a story to match the structure. It helps  to have good examples, so fortunately we had Gemma and Mike on hand at the Great Exhibition of the North Family Expo to do some outstanding collaborations with the robot showing the visitors how it should be done.

Not even 24-minute comic randomness created the subject here, people just came up with this out of their brains.

Dragons! Comix! (jam at Geekfest)

Dragons:

This work of deep and insightful wonder was constructed whilst having a pleasant day at York Geekfest - selling a few comics, drawing Batmans on bags, being envious of the historical re-enacters' massive swords, etcetera.

Travelling Man Birthday doodling

During the Travelling Man birthday shenanigans, whilst blocking the way to the boardgamess we drew a few bits and pieces, including this jam comic.

It's clearly about how art is transformative, right?


Also, while planning our next anthology (which should be out later in the year), this idea came up, which probably won't become one of our actual anthologies, but who knows?

I think it's got potential.

Sunderland Comic Con Jams Final Part

Jam comics are fun. These were done on the Sunday by Paper Jam folks and a bunch of other talented artist types including Hannah Berry, Hunt Emerson, Nigel Auchterlounie, Neil Slorance, Katie White and Nuts and Seeds and probably some other brilliant people we haven't managed to identify.
