Sunderland Comic Con Jams Final Part

Jam comics are fun. These were done on the Sunday by Paper Jam folks and a bunch of other talented artist types including Hannah BerryHunt Emerson, Nigel AuchterlounieNeil Slorance, Katie White and Nuts and Seeds and probably some other brilliant people we haven't managed to identify.

If you drew on here and we haven't mentioned you comment and we'll add you.

Got to love comics.

TURTLE HAT (GARY BAINBRIDGE)

I found this on the old hard drive from a while ago and someone said it was the best 24 Minute Comic I'd ever done. There's a direct correlation between that statement and the fact that I haven't been able to do a 24 Minute Comic since. Ho-hum.

Any good? My blog's here if you fancy it.

THOUGHT BUBBLE CONSEQUENCES (VARIOUS)

Paper Jam were down at the Thought Bubble convention in Leeds on Saturday, selling comics and meeting like-minded folks.

I'd taken paper and pens down in the hope that we'd get some 24-minute comics done during the quiet stretches, but it just goes to prove how hectic and exciting the occaision was that this game of Consequences was the only creative thing we got done all day (save for the creative peddling of our wares).

Behold the collective creativity of Waugh, Bainbridge and Thompson!

SUGAR GLIDER (GARY BAINBRIDGE)

A bit of a break from the 24 minute comics here, this is the result of learning about Sugar Gliders earlier in the week and reading a couple of graphic novels by the wonderful Darwyn Cooke. For those of you keeping score, the comics in question were The Spirit and Parker: The Hunter, which is possibly the most satisfying comics adaptations from a novel I've read. You really should invest.

So understandably, a marsupial themed, Darwyn Cooke inspired superhero appeared in my sketchbook during that comics night.

SPONGE ASBO (GARY BAINBRIDGE)

Here's an old one from me, it takes place before, during and after 24 minute comics sesh. One for fans of the fourth dimension there.

The random phrase generator gave us "Sponge" and "ASBO" this time round...
