Mud Goblin vs Beer Demon

A couple of jam comics from the Small Press Day event at Tyne Bank Brewery, prompted by Paul's two comic robots (one drawing the layouts, one randomising word-pairs!)

Misc jams

Here's a few gems found amid the Big Pile Of Stupid Jam Comics That Has Built Up Over The Year. Done by... some paperjammers, some random folks who we've encouraged to make comics, I think.

Pac-man potato ghost with obligatory Bill Murray

Not even 24-minute comic randomness created the subject here, people just came up with this out of their brains.

Some stupid jam comics

Sorry it's been a while. We had a good jam comic session in the pub after our last meeting and it prompted some much-put-off scanning, which also prompted sifting through some piles of accumulated scrawlings from the last few months of meetings and events where we've run jam comics.

Here are a few of the less nonsensical/rude ones (yes, incredibly, these are the more coherent ones (bear in mind many of these are drawn by children or drunk people)).

Well, away we go.

Could you find it in your heart?

I'll phantom zone your housy ass

I'd have thought you'd be more busy

Hey John. Show me your anvil.

Soon, comrade, they will clamour for our communist hats!

Space hat!

Dragons! Comix! (jam at Geekfest)

Dragons:
This work of deep and insightful wonder was constructed whilst having a pleasant day at York Geekfest - selling a few comics, drawing Batmans on bags, being envious of the historical re-enacters' massive swords, etcetera.

Apple tree, apple tree, oh my little apple tree

A few variations on 24-minute comics.

Doubler, based on the words 'apple' and 'wizard' AND 'nomadic wasp' and 'x-men'.

The tripler variation, based on 'apple' and 'wizard' AND 'nomadic wasp' and 'x-men', AND 'poodle' and 'awkwardness' (cheatingly, inked and coloured waaay after the 24 minutes):

And finally the particularly unusual write-two-words-then-when-it-gets-picked-ignore-the-other-word-that-gets-drawn-with-it variation, based on 'nomadic wasp':
Ewww. Educational.

Finally, a jam comic:

"What sorta speed they clocking?"

Some 24-minute comics!

'Rapid' and 'plants'...

'Peapod' and 'Pokémon'...

'Peapod' and 'Pokémon' AND 'arse' and 'penguin'...

And finally, the a jam comic resulting from the discussion of possibly making a new anthology aimed at youngsters:

They sure don't make them ol' square pics like they used to.....

Scraps (VARIOUS)

A jam comic that (probably thankfully) didn't quite make it into Food ...And That . It was ages ago so am kinda guessing at contributors and have probably missed some, soz.

Hippos vs fat ninjas (VARIOUS)

The post-meeting discussion in the pub turned to hippos and how they were (or were not) like fat ninjas. Then this jam comic happened.

Possibly the shortest jam comic ever (VARIOUS)

Generally jam comics flail around through increasingly bizarre iterations until some semblance of conclusion may or may not be reached. On rare occasions such as this, a master like Mike T delivers a zinger in the second panel, rendering further jamming pointless!

The Adventures of Weather Accountant (VARIOUS)

A jam based on a phrase suggested by Duncan that actually came out kind of poignant.

Over-Powered Freaks (VARIOUS)

Well.

Apologies for the delay. Scanning has been occurring so let's get this show on the road again!

A vague jam (not totally sure who was involved) from aaaages ago, showing Paper Jammers' remarkable insight into the superhero genre.

Imagine seeing this lot in the next summer blockbuster.

Requited Love

I have decided to call this group jam comic Requited Love. Feel free to suggest other titles. Those responsible for this comic know who they are.

One Evening

An unsupervised evening of comics making in the pub. These are jam comics, they have many contributors.

Hm. Odd.

Bedtime and Shoes - at the pub

Drawn during the none PJCC meet, this jam comic was based upon shoes, bedtime, chips and pretentious food served on logs. Drawn on the flexible and artistic medium that is beer mats.

Collaborative Minicomics in the Pub, May 2012

We sat around a table, some of us drank beer, some of us ate food.
We talked above the noise of the bar.

We folded some paper, did a little tear in it and turned it into 8 page mini comics.

We put words into a hat, and the combinations drawn out were 'super/desperado shirts' and 'homeopathy bean'.

For 2 minutes we each drew a cover (see above), and then we passed the paper to our left. Some of the things then drawn on paper were frankly obscene (see snippets below).

And we're not sorry, WE SHALL DO IT AGAIN!
